02 / The Challenge

An Outdated Website That Didn't Match the Quality of Their Work

Natalini Masonry's old WordPress.com site was holding them back. For a company with 50+ years of craftsmanship, their online presence didn't come close to reflecting the quality they deliver in person.

  • Outdated WordPress.com design that looked unprofessional and cluttered
  • Poor mobile experience -- the site was barely usable on phones
  • No dedicated service pages -- all services crammed into one page or scattered across blog-style posts
  • No location targeting -- missing the local SEO opportunity entirely
  • Gallery was hard to navigate with no filtering or categorization
  • No SEO infrastructure: no XML sitemap, no schema markup, no optimized meta tags
  • Contact form wasn't optimized for lead capture and lacked service selection
  • WordPress.com Business plan costing $33/month with limited design control
  • No way to track which pages or services were generating inquiries

04 / Before & After

Side-by-Side Comparisons

The transformation speaks for itself. Every page was redesigned from scratch to be faster, cleaner, and optimized for both users and search engines.

Homepage -- Desktop

From a cluttered WordPress layout with stock imagery to a clean, conversion-focused design with clear hierarchy, trust signals, and prominent calls-to-action.

Homepage -- Mobile

Mobile visitors now see a clean, purpose-built experience with prominent call-to-action buttons, a readable hero section, and proper responsive scaling -- versus the old site which was essentially the desktop version squeezed onto a phone screen.

Service Page -- Retaining Walls

The old site had wall-of-text service pages with a cramped sidebar contact form. The new design features a full-width hero, organized content sections, a "What's Included" checklist, and a dedicated project photo gallery for that service.

Gallery -- Chimney Projects

The old gallery was a simple image grid with no filtering. The new gallery features category filter buttons, hover effects, a clean masonry layout, and lightbox viewing -- making it easy for potential customers to browse the exact type of work they need.

Location Page -- Horsham, PA

The old location pages were generic template pages with zip-code-level content. The new community pages feature custom copy about local masonry needs, a sidebar with all available services, links to nearby communities, and clear calls-to-action.

Contact Page -- Mobile

The old contact form was a basic WordPress form with limited fields. The new contact page features structured contact information, a service-specific dropdown, a "How did you hear about us?" field for attribution, and a virtual estimate callout.

Navigation -- Mobile Menu

The old site used a generic WordPress hamburger menu. The new site features a full-screen mobile navigation with phone number, expandable service and area dropdowns, and a prominent "Get a Free Estimate" button.

Footer

The old footer was a minimal WordPress footer with basic links. The new footer is a comprehensive resource with service links, popular community links, full contact details, business hours, and a quick estimate form -- turning the footer into a secondary conversion point.

06 / Technologies Used

Built With Modern Tools

We chose a technology stack optimized for speed, SEO, and long-term maintainability -- no bloated plugins or expensive hosting required.

Next.js 14 (App Router)Tailwind CSSTypeScriptVercelWeb3FormsGitHub

Why This Stack?

Next.js generates static HTML at build time, meaning every page loads instantly from Vercel's edge network -- no server processing, no database queries, no slow WordPress plugins. The result is a site that's faster than 95% of competitor websites, which directly improves both user experience and Google rankings. Tailwind CSS keeps the design consistent and maintainable, while TypeScript catches errors before they reach production.
